Planning and Zoning is responsible for providing support to the community by interpreting and implementing the General Plan, Zoning Ordinance, and Subdivision Regulations as adopted by City Council. This consists of processing applications for all aspects of land development. Planning and Zoning also serves as staff support to the Planning and Zoning Commission, Board of Adjustment, and Design Review Board
The City of Douglas currently finds itself in an exciting and challenging time. New development abound throughout the City including housing, businesses, parks, and infrastructure. The Planning and Zoning Division ensures that this development is planned, completed and maintained in such a way as to be beneficial to the public health, safety and welfare of the community. Our goal is to provide high-quality customer service to Douglas residents.
We welcome your comments and suggestions on how we can serve you better.
