Jose Luis “Louie” Acedo was born May 20, 1940 in Nacozari, Sonora, Mexico. He graduated from Douglas High School in 1959. He was very active in sports, chosen Captain of the football team and selected “Athlete of the Year” during the 1958-59 school year.

He married his High School sweetheart, Lucy Estock. They have been married 46 years and have three children: Joey, who is a teacher in Phoenix; Cindy, who is also a teacher in Phoenix; and Gene, a Sergeant in the Marine Corps, stationed in Yuma. They also have two grandchildren: Henry II and Jacob.

Louie has been a carpenter most of his life. He also likes to hunt and fish and do anything outdoors. Louie was in the Arizona National Guard from 1960-1966.

Louie and his wife Lucy like to travel all over when possible.
