Humberto Rivera was born and raised in Agua Prieta, Sonora Mexico. He moved to Mexico City to study Architecture and graduated from the National University of Mexico in 1987. He returned to Agua Prieta and worked as Architect for a couple of years and decided to move to Douglas AZ. In Douglas he worked different jobs until he was offered a job with the City of Douglas AZ.

There he worked for a short period of time with City of Douglas Water Department as Office Technician. Then moved on to City of Douglas Housing Department where he spent 13 years as Rehabilitation Specialist at Housing Department with City of Douglas, Mr. Rivera was responsible for housing rehabilitation projects and performing inspections.

Humberto started working as Transit Manager for the City of Douglas July 2012, He Certified as Community Transit Supervisor in May 2017. Some of his duties include, respond to transit emergencies, supervise, coordinate and perform all functional and safety procedures related to transit, participate in employee selection and coordinate the repair and maintenance of City buses. Completed PASS (Passenger Service and Safety) Certified Driver Program. Completed Reasonable Suspicion Training for Drug and Alcohol Program. Fingerprint Clearance Level one. Defensive Driving.
