Mission Statement

The mission of the Douglas Police Department, in partnership with the community, is to improve the quality of life in the city of Douglas by providing law enforcement services that are consistent with the provisions of the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics.

Through the effective and efficient utilization of its resources, the department protects the constitutionally guaranteed rights of every person to be secure in their persons and property.

Recognizing the value and importance of its employees, the department also ensures that each employee is treated equitably, providing them with the leadership, training, and equipment needed to accomplish this mission.
