What does it mean to be a member of the friends of the Douglas Public Library?
- The Children's Summer Reading Program - Special events and guest speakers - Purchase of furniture, equipment and library materials Many members volunteer their time at these functions, as well as help out at our used book sales. Membership in the Friends of the Douglas Public Library is open to anyone interested in lending support, either financial or volunteer, to our local library.
Our three categories of membership are: 1. Regular Individual Membership at $5 per year, primarily for people who wish to join and who may want to participate in activities. 2. Contributing Membership at $10 per year, primarily for people who want to lend financial support and/or will be unable to participate in meetings and regular activities. 3. Patron Membership of $25 per year primarily for business and professional people and for individuals who want to assist the "Friends" with additional financial support.
