Community Resource Committee Meeting
Phoenix, Arizona 07/15/19
The General Services Administration hosted the Community Resource Committee (CRC) meeting with regional stakeholders to discuss the findings of the Douglas Port of Entry Feasibility Study. GSA confirmed the Two-Port Solution is preferred and they will commence the due diligence process, including the environmental land survey for the land at James Ranch Road. GSA intends to request funding within 24 months for modernizing the Raul H. Castro Port after funding for the new commercial port is secured, if it is not included already.
A great turnout for the CRC, including representatives from Senator Sinema and Congresswoman Kirkpatrick, the Arizona Department of Transportation, the Arizona Commerce Authority, City of Douglas, Municipality of Agua Prieta, Douglas Regional Economic Development Corporation, Customs and Border Protection, and many others.
